Nearly nine months to the day since Brittney and Luke Bird discovered the body of their 15-year-old son Bradyn Bohn in their home, Gov. Tony Evers signed a bill into law that makes sextortion a felony crime in Wisconsin.

Bohn, a teenager from Kronenwetter, outside of Wausau, died by suicide March 5 , after hours of relentless blackmail threats that amplified over time in scale and severity. He's one of at least 30 cases of teen suicides nationally that were driven by sextortion threats since 2021, according to a USA Today investigation conducted earlier this year.
