TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida lawmakers from both parties agree the state faces an affordability crisis, but they are proposing different solutions as the regular legislative session approaches.
With just over a month before the session begins, Republicans like Sen. Ben Albritton, the Republican Senate President, and Democrats, like Sen. Lori Berman, the Democratic Minority Leader, have announced competing priorities to help families struggling with high costs.
“There’s a real affordability challenge going on in Florida, and we need to be helping,” Albritton said.
Berman also said the crisis is worsening for Floridians.
“We are seeing with our own eyes that the affordability crisis is real. It is hurting Floridians, and yes, it is getting worse,” Berman said.
