BENTON, Maine — When a person goes missing in the Maine woods, time is of the essence.

The Maine Game Warden service, volunteers with the Maine Association for Search and Rescue, and others are ready to respond. And now, so is a horse named Kodak.

Over the summer, Kodak became an official member of the Mounted Air Scent Team after passing the required air scent detection certifications through the Maine Association for Search and Rescue. This certification means Kodak is able to help find missing people in wooded terrain by scent just like a dog would.
