The first of what could be many bowl game opt-outs is here for Penn State .
Senior captain and defensive tackle Zane Durant announced Monday night he will not play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Clemson and will declare for the NFL Draft . He was out of eligibility after this season.
“I want to thank Penn State University for the memories and experiences that it has given me,” Durant wrote in a social media post. He went on to thank a large pool of people, including former Penn State coach James Franklin.
Durant, a Lake Nona, Florida, native, was one of the key members of the 2022 recruiting class that filled Penn State fans and Franklin with hope for a national title over the past few years.
