U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday issued a stark warning to Mexico, threatening to impose an additional 5% tariff in response to what he described as violations of a water-sharing treaty.
Trump claimed that Mexico is failing to meet its obligation to release 200,000 acre-feet of water to the U.S. by December 31st, an issue he states is putting American farmers at a disadvantage.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump described the lack of response from Mexico as "unfair" to U.S. farmers who rely on this crucial water supply.
