(WNDU) - Notre Dame running back and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza are among four finalists for the 2025 Heisman Trophy.
The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious award in college football. It’s awarded annually to the top player in the sport.
Love and Mendoza will join the other two finalists, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, in New York on Saturday for the Heisman award presentation.
Love rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns this season while also catching three touchdowns.
Mendoza has passed for 2,980 yards and 33 touchdowns while also rushing for 240 yards and six touchdowns. He is considered by many as the favorite to take home the award.
The Heisman Trophy will be presented Saturday night at 8 p.m.
