LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Tech’s Jacob Rodriguez will not be in New York this Saturday after not being named a Heisman Trophy finalist.

The four invited to the ceremony are Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia, Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin.

Rodriguez was awarded the Butkus Award on Friday after being named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

No. 4 Texas Tech awaits the winner of No. 5 Oregon and No. 12 James Madison for a New Year’s Day game in the Orange Bowl in Miami.
