Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu said the Centre will cut IndiGo’s winter flight schedule and reallocate those slots to other airlines in the wake of the country's largest carrier’s massive operational meltdown .
In its latest update on the disruptions, the airline said on Monday night that it had refunded Rs 827 crore for cancellations up to December 15 and also reported a 90 per cent on-time performance across its network. It added that it operated more than 1,800 flights despite over 450 cancellations during the day.
Speaking to Doordarshan, Naidu said, “We will curtail IndiGo’s routes. They are currently operating 2,200 flights, and we will definitely scale that down.”
