AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo father says his 3-year-old son has died and the boy’s mother has been arrested on a capital murder charge, according to a statement posted on social media.

In an emotional post today, Dawson’s father, Dahrian Zamora, wrote that his son died Sunday, Dec. 7, at 10:42 a.m.

NewsChannel 10 has reached out to the father to confirm his son’s passing.

Dawson’s mother, Chelsea Berg, has been taken into custody and charged with capital murder of a person under 10 years of age, according to a Collin County judicial record.

The mother’s boyfriend, Christopher Alexander , was previously arrested for the day the toddler was beaten. His charges have not been updated
