EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - High School Football Season has officially come to a close with the Kentucky State Championships wrapping up, and the Owensboro Red Devils capturing the Class 5A state title.
Now, teams look back and reflect on the season, as do coaches. And every year, some decide it’s time to hang up the whistle.
This year, it was Todd Wilkerson’s turn. After 14 years at the helm of Heritage Hills football, Coach Wilkerson is retiring.
The past three seasons was the best stretch of Wilkerson’s head coaching tenure. Over the past three years, the Patriots have hit double digit wins, with 13 in 2023, 14 in 2024, and 12 this past season.
They made it to the state championship game in both 2023 and 2024, of course, winning the Class 3A title in the 2024 season.
