(Bismarck, ND) — Basin Electric Power Cooperative and NextEra Energy Resources are teaming up to explore building a natural gas-fueled generation facility in North Dakota. The project would support a multi-gigawatt data center in the western part of the state. The proposed facility, called the River Run Energy, could be operational by 2030. NextEra Energy Resources President Brian Bloster says the facility will create thousands of jobs and have a great economic impact, while Governor Kelly Armstrong calls it a win for the state.
