New on-street parking charges for five Warwickshire towns plus fines for moving traffic offences form part of county council plans to raise almost £3 million per year from motorists.

Cash-strapped Warwickshire County Council has released its draft financial framework for the next five years which outlines a projected need to save or generate income totalling £95.4 million per year by 2030-31.

The county takes care of on-street parking, charging in Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth, Stratford and Rugby but further pay and display areas are being considered "to address congestion and road safety concerns" in Alcester, Atherstone, Henley-on-Arden, Shipston-on-Stour and Southam from April 2028.

Revenue from the new locations is expected to hit £592,000 per year by 2030-31.
