Donald Trump is struggling to "separate reality from fantasy" and a recent Truth Social post makes it clear, a political commentator has claimed.

The president has taken to the social media platform many times over the last few months but a 500-word tirade about his physical and mental health seems to have highlighted a few problems with Trump. Though he may have wanted to clear the air on his cognitive abilities, columnist Michael Ian Black believes the Truth Social rant shows Trump is not all there.

Black, writing in The Daily Beast, suggested the post will be "exhibit A" in a push to boot the president out of office using the 25th Amendment. He wrote, "Taken together, this latest Trumpian screed ought to be Exhibit A in a discharge of the 25th Amendment."

"If he were a more stable genius, I would assume the president to be exercising a certain degree of hyperbole. I no longer make such assumptions. Scarily enough, I think Trump actually believes what he’s saying. I no longer believe he’s capable of separating reality from fantasy."

Trump was dubbed "The Burger King" later in the piece as Black suggested time was up for the president. A dwindling polling rating, as well as GOP rebellions against the Trump administration on healthcare and the cost-of-living crisis highlight not all is well for Trump's team.

Black added, "His health is bad. His brain is mush. His ego has swollen to the size of a thousand suns. He’s transformed 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue from a dignified seat of American governance to a gold-gilded cuckoo’s nest of his own design."

"And, for some reason, most of the American establishment is still bending over backward to avoid saying the obvious: The Burger King is cooked." The columnist also observed Trump's brag about passing as many cognitive tests as he had is not a positive, and nor should the president be proud of his three passing grades.

Black wrote, "He makes a point of stating that no other president has gone through the battery of tests to which he has been subjected. The reason, unstated: most other presidents haven’t demonstrated the level of cognitive impairment our current one displays on a minute-to-minute basis."
