The province’s Special Investigations Unit is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the serious injuries suffered by a 67-year-old man last week in Haldimand County.

The SIU said Haldimand OPP officers were attempting to locate the man who is the subject of the investigation on Dec. 5.

Police overtook a vehicle in the area of North Shore Drive and Rymer Road near Dunnville.

According to the SIU, as officers approached the vehicle, they saw the man was suffering from self-inflicted injuries.

First aid was administered, and the man was transported to hospital.

The SIU said two investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
