There’s a proposal to put a temporary pause on some rentals in Annapolis. The pause would apply to some new short-term rentals.
Karma O’Neill, Ward 2 of Annapolis, wants the city to examine how many short-term rentals are operating unlicensed and whether they meet licensing requirements. She wants the city to present the findings to the City Council.
“Just so we have an opportunity to do a deep dig into how many we have, where they are looking to set up short-term rentals and how to best cope with some of the issues short-term rentals,” O’Neill said.
Of the approximately 500 short-term rentals, only about half are licensed.
