The Vancouver City Council on Monday approved nearly $2.36 million for safe housing for domestic violence survivors and general rent assistance in 2025.

The money comes from the city’s Affordable Housing Fund , money collected through a voter-approved property tax levy. In 2023, voters renewed the tax of 30 cents per $1,000 assessed property value to raise a total of $100 million over a decade.

Council for the Homeless’ consortium rental assistance program received $1.9 million to help 150 households in Clark County with one-time assistance or rental assistance for up to 12 months paired with supportive services, according to a city staff report.

YWCA Clark County received $441,900 for its rapid rehousing program for 12 people or households fleeing domestic violence.
