In going up against the Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings goaltender John Gibson came up clutch, delivering a shutout in a 4-0 win for the visitors. The former Anaheim Ducks netminder turned away all 39 shots he faced in his best performance for his new team.

It was Gibson’s first shutout of the season and his third straight win. It was a far cry from how he had performed for most of the first two months of the season. Monday night’s performance was the first time in six games that he did not give up more than two goals in a game.
