Gabriel Jesus could make his first appearance since January when Arsenal face Club Brugge on Wednesday night.
Jesus has been added to Arsenal’s Champions League squad after Max Dowman injured his ankle last weekend.
The striker has not played for the Gunners in a competitive match since the start of this year, when he underwent knee surgery.
Jesus has played two friendlies for Arsenal’s Under-21 side in recent weeks and could now feature against Brugge.
“With the situation of Gabby, we expected him to be training with us by the end of December,” said Mikel Arteta .
“But Gabby has been pushing every single day and he kept telling everybody: ‘I am going to be earlier, earlier, earlier’ - and he’s done it.
