A man locked a woman inside a house, demanded to see her phone and then raped her, a court heard. Kenneth Crane, 43, from Barry , left his victim feeling suicidal after subjecting her to months of abuse.

On one occasion he forced her to perform oral sex on him and raped her. On another, he held a kitchen knife to the woman’s face and threatened to harm her if she did not give him her phone. He also threw a cup of coffee at her, made her clean it up, and then strangled her up against a door.
