Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced that a 26-year-old Queens man was sentenced today to two years in prison for a February 2024 antisemitic attack in Hewlett. Bechir Lehbeib, of Jamaica, Queens, pleaded guilty on November 21, 2025, before Judge Colin O’Donnell to one count of Assault in the Second Degree (a D violent felony) and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree as a Hate Crime (an E felony) in satisfaction of the indictment. The defendant was sentenced today to two years in prison and three years’ post-release supervision.
