BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of students from Warren County Public Schools worked together Tuesday to master their leadership skills.

The Student Lighthouse Team Leadership Summit is an annual event where the Leader in Me Lighthouse teams from each of the county’s schools unite for social and emotional learning.

This program teachers leadership skills throughout the school system from Pre-K to high school, but it is more than just learning.

Justin Spears, leadership coordinator for Warren East High School, says, “We cheer when they come in. We cheer when they leave. We fist bump them. Kids, they just love to be here. And that makes my job a lot easier, knowing that I have 250 kids in there that want to learn and grow and are empowered to go back and make a difference.”
