PHOENIX — There is new leadership coming to the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), and it includes Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The DGA held its annual meeting in Phoenix, Ariz. last weekend, where its members unanimously elected Gov. Whitmer to serve as DGA Vice Chair in 2026.
Gov. Whitmer will serve alongside Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who was elected to DGA Chair for 2026 in December of 2024. Gov. Beshear will take the place of current DGA Chair, Kentucky Governor Laura Kelly.
