The Dollar General Corp. has agreed to pay a $1.55 million settlement after an investigation alleged the discount store chain had been charging customers higher prices than those posted on store labels, according to the state’s Attorney General’s Office.
The investigation revealed “numerous occasions” when consumers were charged higher prices at registers than were shown on shelves, according to a release from Attorney General Dave Sunday’s office.
”Our investigation found widespread and repeated instances of Pennsylvanians being overcharged at checkout — blatant deception of customers all over the Commonwealth,” Mr. Sunday said in the release.
