CLEVELAND, Ohio — Yup. You read that right.

Phillip Rivers, the 44-year old quarterback who retired after competing for the Colts during the 2020 NFL season, is returning to play for them once more.

This comes in the wake of Daniel Jones suffering a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 14.

It’s quite the whirlwind.

The Colts currently were one of the hottest teams in the NFL in the first half of the season. Currently, they sit with a record of 8-5 and a three-game losing skid.

The news of Jones doesn’t make it easier, and the higher ups decided to bring in someone with familiarity in the organization.

On top of that, Rivers is currently a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2026 .

Rivers played 17 years in the NFL.
