RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -It’s rare to see snow this early in Virginia. The area is now plowing out after two snowfalls in four days.
Richmond clears its own roads. The Department of Public Works began prepping over the weekend and used about 30 salt trucks and plows to treat more than 2,500 lane miles across the River City.
The snowfall was a pretty sight for some, but now attention turns to cleanup.
The roads are a little clearer Tuesday evening than they were at the start of the day.
DPW started preparing over the weekend.
Primary roads are in good shape, but many residents are worried about smaller neighborhood streets.
“Still kind of slick and stuff, but it may take some time for it to get straight,” said Scott Burgess, a Richmond resident.
