The misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter case against 81-year-old David Baskett was delayed yet again Tuesday after his defense attorney requested additional time due to the continued unavailability of an expert witness.
The court scheduled a trial-setting hearing for Jan. 12 at 8:30 a.m., extending a case that has been pending for more than 18 months.
Baskett, who is charged in the May 2024 forklift collision that killed 39-year-old Tiffany Ann Peterson, appeared in court out of custody wearing a navy-blue blazer, gray pants and black shoes.
He sat quietly before the hearing began, briefly conferring with his attorney, Attorney Adrienne Harbottle, who has represented him through the multiple continuances.
