Nursing programs at colleges and universities in mid-Missouri received a total of $800,000 in grant funding this year from the Missouri State Board of Nursing as part of $3.1 million in grants the board issued statewide.
In mid-Missouri, grants went to programs at the University of Missouri, Lincoln University, Columbia College, Central Methodist University and State Technical College of Missouri.
The funding, distributed through the Nursing Education Incentive Program, will support faculty development, simulation and virtual reality technology, student scholarships and program expansion, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance.
