Smoke rising from a fire in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood was visible from I-55 Tuesday evening, with buses re-routed as emergency crews responded to the area.

Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, a fire broke out in a structure near South Homan Avenue and West Pershing Road.

Video on social media showed several Chicago Fire Department officials entering a garage through an alley in the area, with a heavy cloud of dark grey smoke above them.

CTA #39 buses were re-routed temporarily in both directions due to fire department activity in the area as of 6 p.m.
