In a battle of the top two teams in the Interior West, Angelo Zol made 25 saves and Dylan Krayer scored the lone goal of the game as West Kelowna Warriors (19-3-2) skunked Trail Smoke Eaters (18-6-0) 1-0 in BCHL
junior hockey action, Saturday at Royal LePage Place.
Krayer’s goal – assisted by Natan Ethier and Ruslan Jamaldinov – came at 13:10 of the second period
triggering the crowd to blanket the ice surface with stuffed animals for the annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Chayse Johnson made 21 saves for the Smoke Eaters who outshot the home team 12-4 in the final period.
On Friday, Jamaldinov had a hat-trick to lead the Warriors to a 7-1 win over Alberni Valley Bulldogs
(12-10-3). Garrett Thom, Krayer, Ethier and Kelsen Podworny added single goals and Liam Nilsson three assists. Patrick Vogl
