The Sudbury Wolves were protecting a 2-1 lead against the Sarnia Sting when, with a little more than 30 seconds left in regulation, Henderson chipped a puck out of the Sudbury zone and went speeding down the wing. Article content Article content
“I was trying to take care of the D-zone and I ended up with the puck on my stick,” recalled the left-winger from Wellesley, Ont., set to celebrate his 18th birthday on Wednesday. “I chipped it out and ended up with a one on one.”
He gained a step on that last remaining defender, who resorted to hanging on Henderson’s back. The Sudbury skater muscled his way through, however, and pushed the puck into the net
