RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees has voted to approved a new two-year contract with the Washoe Education Association. According to WCSD, Tuesday’s vote comes after bargaining teams from the two groups worked together for months on the agreement.

The agreement includes a 2 percent Cost of Living Adjustment for the Fiscal Year 20206, retroactive to July 1. It also includes enhanced raises for some hard-to-fill teaching positions, up to 7.5%. There are also several other opportunities for pay increases, bases on district revenues, a $1,000 performance-based retention bonus, and the option for employees to share in budget savings.
