The planned closure of the southwestern quarter of the trail around McIntosh Lake has been delayed due to recent snowfall. The revised start date for the project is now Dec. 22, pushed back from an earlier planned closure start date of Dec. 1, according to a city news release.
The work is expected to take about three to four weeks to complete. For those who regularly walk around the southwestern quarter of the trail that circles McIntosh Lake, they will not be able to complete the loop around the entire lake during this time. The trail will remain partially open during construction, around the remaining perimeter of the lake.
According to the latest engineer’s inspection report, which was completed in April 2024, several locations in the dam were noted where additional riprap is needed d
