COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein’s office said it is pushing forward with its lawsuit against the owners of the Crestwood Village apartment complex on the city's east side, citing chronic crime, unsafe living conditions and unresolved code violations.
The lawsuit alleges the owners have continued to collect rent while allowing conditions to deteriorate.
“Providing clean, safe housing is the base standard for landlords to operate in the City of Columbus,” Klein said in a statement. “Landlords that fail to meet that expectation and continue to cash rent checks as conditions deteriorate should expect to see us in court.”
