After one of the busiest Thanksgiving travel periods in recent years, millions of Americans are now gearing up for the December rush. And while travelers are bracing for heavy crowds, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is continuing to roll out new ideas aimed at making the airport experience more manageable.
Last month, Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy introduced a "civility" campaign called "The Golden Age of Travel Starts With You," encouraging people to bring more courtesy and formality back to flying.
Now, the DOT is shifting gears again with a new campaign—and among its more surprising ideas is a proposal to encourage travelers to squeeze in workouts inside the terminal (presumably wearing the "respectful" clothing outlined in Duffy's previous campaign).
