Isaiah Soto, the Orcutt Academy boys basketball team’s leading scorer and rebounder last season, has transferred to Righetti.
The Spartans figure they will need their defensive pressure to help carry them this season. So far, for the most part anyway, so good.
Orcutt held an opponent to less than 40 points for the fifth time this season in a 69-37 non-league win at Valley Christian Academy Monday night. The Spartans are 6-1. VCA is 3-2.
“We know our defense is going to have to help carry us,” Orcutt point guard Jordan Sedillo said afterward.
“We don’t have much size. We just have to keep up the pressure, keep up the intensity.”
Sedillo scored 13 of his game high 19 points in the second half. He also was a reliable ball distributor, consistently connecting with teammates for made layup
