ELLICOTT CITY, Md. —
Marylanders are feeling the force of the current economy, according to Towson University economist Daraius Irani.
Many Americans said they're feeling the pinch when getting regular goods like groceries. Economists said with new policies in place, it could get worse.
The sentiment comes after President Donald Trump spoke in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night and said he's fixing affordability problems.
"There has been a lot of disruption in the economy," Irani said.
Disruption and uncertainty are two words that are dominating the U.S. economy. Irani said the rate of inflation has slowed — a trend that began before the election.
"It has only slowed the rate of price increase, so prices have not come down. The rate at which prices increase has slowed," Irani said.
