LANSING — Kingston Thomas wasn't satisfied with the way he opened his junior season for the East Lansing basketball team in a weekend victory over Flint Hamady.

So the 6-foot-5 guard turned the page and was ready to make the most of his next opportunity.

Thomas did that while playing a big role as the Trojans moved to 2-0 with their 73-58 victory over Sexton on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Don Johnson Fieldhouse.

Thomas had a season-high 23 points while playing a role in East Lansing building a double-digit lead and then holding off a fourth-quarter push as Sexton pulled within seven late.

"I came out here and I knew I had to show out and show what I can really do," Thomas said. "I have all the tools, but I just have to put them to use."
