LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg has appointed Pamela McKnight on Dec. 9 as the city’s new chief AI officer as artificial intelligence takes on a larger role in daily government operations.
McKnight comes to the role with experience in artificial intelligence and government technology systems.
McKnight will oversee Louisville Metro’s efforts to expand the use of AI in city services, including managing internal workflows and improving efficiency in areas such as public transportation, public safety, and legal services, city officials said.
“There are a lot of ideas we have to improve services to our community, whether it’s public safety, potholes, open records responses, and so much more,” Greenberg said. “We’re just scratching the surface of what we can do.”
