Ahead of Christmas, the Red Sox appear to be shopping at high-end boutiques in the trade market at the Winter Meetings in Florida.
According to a report in the Boston Globe, Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is the latest former All-Star infielder that Craig Breslow has had discussions about this offseason.
The 31-year-old, four-time All-Star with the Rangers and Dodgers, hit 21 home runs in 100 games last year. Seager has received MVP votes in five different seasons, including 2024.
Seager is a two-time World Series winner and was named the MVP both times. He has 19 home runs in 78 career playoff games. He has a postseason slash line of .251/.347/.505. over seven seasons.
He’s signed through 2031 as part of a 10-year, $325 million deal he signed with Texas.
