Coimbatore: The much-anticipated Semmozhi Park, a flagship urban green project developed at a cost of ₹208.50 crore, will finally open its gates to the public from tomorrow, Thursday, December 11. Sprawling across 45 acres in the Gandhipuram area, this botanical and recreational marvel was inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on November 25 but had remained closed for the completion of finishing works, which the Coimbatore Corporation has now confirmed are fully done.

The park has been developed on the site of the former Gandhipuram Central Prison complex, marking a significant urban transformation. The foundation stone was laid by CM Stalin in December 2023, with an initial allocation of ₹208.50 crore for its creation.
