The Dallas Police Oversight Board wants answers about how technology is being used by the department. The questions came following a recent NBC 5 report that the department will integrate cameras and drones to respond to random gunfire.

Dallas Police faced several questions Tuesday night from the Community Police Oversight Board concerning the use of department technology and citizen privacy.

During the meeting, questions about plate readers, facial recognition, drone use, and FLOCK cameras were all on the table. Sergeant Adam Reinhart explained the primary use of FLOCK.

“It captures license plates is the very basic overview of what it does. It does not capture names, faces, or the driver images,” said Reinhart.
