CLIO – Swartz Creek head coach Kevin Root was still wondering what a complete game from his squad looked like.

Opening the season with back-to-back losses to Flint Carman-Ainsworth and Midland Dow, Swartz Creek (1-2) had yet to show Root a strong showing from start to finish, especially in the first quarter.

The wait is now finally over.

Swartz Creek took the lead from the opening tipoff and never looked back as it cruised past Clio (1-2) 59-40 on Tuesday at Clio High School.

“We came out a little bit better tonight from the opening tip,” Root said. “The last couple games we’ve gotten down early in the game and had to claw our way back. Tonight, I feel like we played a more complete game on both ends of the floor.”
