UPPER DUBLIN — It had been 1,419 days since the Wissahickon boys basketball team defeated Upper Dublin. When the Trojans snapped the streak Tuesday night, it took more than the standard 32 minutes.
Wissahickon opened Suburban One League Liberty Division play with a 62-61 overtime win over Upper Dublin at Upper Dublin High School.
The Trojans (2-2, 1-0 SOL Liberty) trailed by 10 points, 40-30, entering the fourth quarter. Nico Vacchiano made a pair of three throws to get them within three with 3:16 left in the game and Zach Schwartz hit a three-pointer – one of just two triples for Wissahickon in the game – to tie the score, 46-46, with 2:05 left in regulation.
