Gaga Rajakovic’s snub was not worth it.
Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic’s wife tried to engage her husband in the day leading up the most important NBA regular season game he’d ever prepared for and got nothing in return.
“I really dove in (to preparation Monday),” Darko said Tuesday evening. “My wife, she tried to talk to me a couple of times. It did not work out. I was really deep into it.
“It felt a little bit like a playoff prep. That’s what I like about games like this, games with big stakes.”
He should have gone for a nice dinner with his wife instead.
None of the prep in the world would have helped as the Raptors faded in their biggest regular season game in years, beaten 117-101 by the New York Knicks in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup at the Scotiabank Arena.
