Historic Barabati Stadium in Cuttack may soon undergo a significant expansion, with the Odisha government indicating plans to increase its seating capacity. The development follows Team India’s emphatic victory over South Africa in a T20 match played on Tuesday, after which Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hinted at the possibility of upgrading the iconic venue.

CM Majhi said a proposal to enhance spectator capacity at Barabati Stadium is already under consideration. The matter will be discussed with stakeholders, and a decision is expected shortly. He added that improving the infrastructure of one of Odisha’s oldest cricket venues remains a priority.
