A recent analysis of digital investing trends highlights that mutual fund participation in India continues to be concentrated within a relatively narrow segment of the population, predominantly salaried millennials in urban and semi-urban centres.

According to the Bain–Groww How India Invests 2025 report, mutual fund penetration currently reaches only about 10% of Indian households, despite the rapid expansion of digital platforms and growing awareness campaigns.

As a result, a relatively small group of earners accounts for most new inflows.
