Beijing: A deadly fire broke out in a four-storey residential building in Shantou, Guangdong province, on Tuesday night, claiming the lives of 12 people. According to state media, the blaze started around 9:20 pm and was brought under control by 10:00 pm.

Emergency teams quickly responded to the scene, working to evacuate residents and extinguish the fire. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.
