Thrissur: CPI leader V.S. Sunil Kumar has raised objections to Union Minister Suresh Gopi casting his vote in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation during the local body elections.
He noted that during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Suresh Gopi and his family voted in Nettissery, claiming permanent residence in Thrissur. However, in the recent local elections, he and his family voted in the Sasthamangalam division of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
Through a Facebook post, V.S. Sunil Kumar questioned how this was possible and called on both the Election Commission and the Union Minister to respond, urging them to address the matter publicly.
Meanwhile, the second phase of the LSG polls will take place in Kerala on Thursday, December 11.
