WASHOUGAL — One half was all the Columbia River girls basketball team needed to warm up in its first game of the season.

Once they did, the Rapids were tough to stop.

Columbia River scored the first 16 points of the second half, turning around an eight-point halftime deficit against Washougal to claim a 61-42 win Tuesday in both teams’ 2A Greater St. Helens League opener.

Gracie Glavin scored 18 of her game-high 27 points in the second half, which included four 3-pointers. Braidee Goodwin also reached double figures with 13 points for River (1-0), the three-time defending 2A GSHL champion.
