Iron Mountain junior Alysia Wood scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Mountaineers to a 41-32 victory over host North Central in a non-conference contest Monday.

Wood, the top returning player from last season’s Mountaineers team, got this year’s squad off to a fine start with two 3-pointers and another hoop in the opening quarter as IM grabbed a 11-5 lead heading into the second.

Wood then added another triple, a bucket and two free throws to help the Mountaineers maintain their six-point advantage at the break.

Iron Mountain stretched its 23-17 halftime edge to 33-22 after three quarters with Wood sinking her final 3-pointer of the game along with a 2-point bucket.

Sophomore point guard Olivia Geneva helped the Mountaineers stay in front by shooting 4 of 4 in the final quarter.
